Fiances and fiancées of US citizens can enter the United States and get married with the K-1 visa. Although the primary purpose of K-1 visa is to help US citizens marry their loved ones living abroad, it can also be the first step in obtaining a permanent resident status and a work permit in USA. K-1 fiancee visa is valid for a period of 90 days within which the alien should marry a US citizen.
In order for you to work in USA with a K-1 visa, you will need to apply for work authorization with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) based on your K1 visa. If the USCIS finds your qualification suitable for employment, it will issue an employment authorization document (EAD), which is also known as a work permit. As the K-1 visa is valid for only 90 days, the EAD is also valid only as long as your K-1 visa limiting it to a maximum of 90 days.
